BEGINNERS / IMPROVERS FLY FISHING DAY

EVER WANTED TO FLY FISH BUT DIDN’T KNOW WHERE TO START? OR MAYBE YOU JUST WANT TO DEVELOP YOUR FLY FISHING SKILLS AND LEARN MORE TIPS AND TECHNIQUES TO IMPROVE YOUR CATCH RATE?

COME AND JOIN US FOR A ‘FUN AND INFORMITIVE’ FLY FISHING DAY. RECEIVE TUITION FROM QUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS WHO WILL SHOW YOU ALL THAT’S INVOLVED IN THE ART OF FLY FISHING.

WE WILL TEACH YOU:-

About the tackle used and how to set it up…..How to roll cast and overhead cast safely….. All about flies / which fly to use and why…..Basic entomology (fly life in and on the water)…..Different methods of fly fishing…..What to do when you hook your fish!!

ALL EQUIPMENT AND FISHING PERMITS WILL BE PROVIDED ON THE DAY INCLUDING A BUFFET PICNIC LUNCH ON THE BANK, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TURN UP AND ENJOY!!

THE DAY IS OPEN TO ALL FROM AGE 8 UPWARDS AND COSTS £70 PER PERSON AND £25 FOR AN UNDER 16 JUNIOR ACCOMPANYING AN ADULT, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE TO SECURE YOUR PLACE.

THORNEY COPSE FLY FISHING BEGINNERS DAY

 

Higher Holton, Nr Wincanton, Somerset.Sunday 11th September 9.30a.m. to 4.30p.m.

Ever wanted to learn to fly fish but didn’t know where to start?

Come and join us on the bank at the beautiful Thorney Copse Lake in the heart of the countryside for a ‘fun and informative’ fly fishing day and learn the skills involved with a qualified instructor.

You will learn all about the tackle, how to cast a fly rod, all about selecting the right fly and what to do when you hook your fish!!

All equipment and the fishing permit will be provided for the day, all you have to do is turn up and enjoy!!

The day is open to all from aged 8 upwards and costs £55 per person payable in advance to secure your place.

Places are strictly limited so make sure you book early to avoid disappointment.

   THORNEY COPSE LAKE OPEN DAY

Nr. WINCANTON, SOMERSET.

Thorney Copse Lake welcomes all to their open day, whether you are someone who fly fishes already and would like to have a look around or if you are someone who is looking to try fly fishing for the first time. 

The lake is set in probably one of the most beautiful settings you are likely to see and is stocked with hard fighting rainbow and brown trout.

On the day there will be professional tuition available and tackle to to use or bring your own and wet a line, a BBQ in the afternoon and information available on forthcoming events at the lake.

Hosted Sea Trout Fishing Trip 12th – 19th July 2008    

Enjoy one of the most exciting forms of fly fishing….night time sea trout!   

Join me for a week on the river Teifi in West Wales, fishing for the magical sea trout.   

The cost of the week will include shared cottage accommodation (twin and double rooms available), breakfast and evening meals and fishing permit for the week.   

The daytime is free for you to do whatever you wish. Come late afternoon I will be available to discuss fishing tactics and I can offer you some casting tuition should you wish. We will walk the river in daylight so that you are familiar with the water and any potential night time hazards, I will also brief you on night fishing safety.   

If you like the sound of an adrenalin fueled fishing trip, then join me for the week. Be sure to book early though, as places are sure to fill quickly.   

Price: £595   

£420 (non fisher)   

Prices do not include for any fishing tackle or alcohol for the trip. If you have any questions, please get in touch with me.   

Country Shows    

I will be giving casting instruction at various shows throughout the year on the Salmon & Trout Association stand. Come along if you fancy giving fly fishing a go, or if you want to meet me and discuss any possible tuition that you would like.
